I am not getting to Japan anytime soon and I am almost certain that my, as of yet to be discovered, Holy Grail watch is currently in a store front in the Land of the Rising Sun. I recently saw a Youtube video of Japanese proxy shopping services that can help you make a purchase in Japan and ship it to the country you live in. I have seen recommendations for ZenMarket, Buyee, Sendico and others but frankly I am a little apprehensive. So my question to you, my fellow Horological devotees, is what proxy services you have successfully used to make overseas purchases of timepieces that are then shipped to your residence?

Sorry I’ve been absent recently as I’ve been involved in health issues and just finished my first week of my knee replacement, so I’ve been pretty immobile lately and not really thinking about timepieces. Anyway, it seems that I’ve seen two trends in watch movements lately. Replacing the Miyota and Seiko automatics in several watches seems to be the Seliita 200-1 and some Seagull automatic movements. Any thoughts on this?
