Long distance for first JPL game
Grayson heads to Portsmouth for his first JPL game, well technically it is a Hampshire County Cup Game so opposition our a div one grass roots team. So should be a fair contest as a start for a team of U11’s stepping into U12 who have yet to play together

Simple tips that go along way and used with absolute novices at summer camps and as a reinforcement at Academy level Start position weight forward on front half of feet and hands in front of body. This supports you being able to lead with your hands. If weight is back you will naturally want to initiate the feet to move towards the ball Initiate the dive with you hand: hand leads the body. Left hand to left right to right Aim to extend arms with hands out and behind the ball, not a chopping action. Finally watch the ball at all time through the save movement Hope that helps

@Roxy Mattick that is great news to hear
Learning the coach can’t see what you can
I see far too much rigid tactics in what youth coaches are trying too implement. Whether it is the showcasing of professional clubs and the associated flow down from academy football. JPL and 3G football is awash with playing from the back. Now I am a big fan of a goalkeeper being comfortable acting as a false centre back when in possession and playing short from kicking positions (static or hands). However team coaches are missing the critical piece of coaching GK from a gk position on the pitch. Then they can help the gk make the right decision based on player movement in reality. If the outfield playera are not dropping and splitting or stepping up , then an idealistic coaching model from the sidelines falls flat. To which a coach should applaud a GK for going long as opposed to berating them for not applying their model of play. differing styles for differing moments?
J4K ELITE EVENTS LIVE - WELL NEARLY
Guys, we are one step closer to starting the J4K Elite Goalkeeper Training Events. However, instead of just picking a location, where it could be a long drive for most, we are going live with the below page, where you can go on the waiting list. Also, what this allows J4K to do, is see were the locations are from interested keepers - We can then look to run a camp nearer to your location. As we plan to run these events across the UK, Ireland , USA and Canada, please add your detail if you are from these countries. Please check out https://just4keepers.aweb.page/j4k-elite-events IMPORTANT: There is NO coaching at these events, it is intense training, - basically we will train you like a professional goalkeeper trains, so these events are not for everyone. So please only put your name down for the waiting list, if you have a good level of fitness and you are not a beginner. Who Is up for Getting Put Through Their Paces 👊 Ray

Great this @Ray Newland not sure of it registers with the GK on here how valuable this opportunity and insight you are offering is. It is a brutal battle out there to make it in any sport and it is only intensifying. Keep up the good work
