Slacker
I feel like a slacker. I practiced scales for 30 minutes. C pentatonic scale in all 5 positions. Then practiced songs for an hour. Feel like if I don’t play twice that long I’m not getting the job done. lol.

I try to practice at least a half hour a day. Occasionally that doesn’t work out though. Sometimes I can sneak in an hour or more, but it’s kinda rare. Life is too busy. I have to grab my guitar and play for 15 minutes at a time sometimes. Occasionally I’ll wake up in the middle of the night and play for an hour with headphones. Lol

The other you
Hey folks, I know most of us don’t make our living playing guitar, so what is your profession? My career was in electronics and technology development. I’m now doing financial advising and building amps and stuff as a hobby. Guitar collection currently sits at 10 with one or two more incoming. I’d love to be out playing live again if my schedule wasn’t so whacked.

I’m a self employed Licensed General Contractor. I do mainly smaller remodels, deck repairs, door and window repairs/replacement and general handyman repairs for a couple small short term vacation rental companies. It’s always something different from day to day. I enjoy repairing and setting up guitars as much as I enjoy playing them. I’ve recently started accumulating “older”kid and adult guitars. I fix whatever they need. My plan is to donate them to less fortunate families this Christmas as part of my motorcycle toy run that I’ve been hosting for 15 years. It keeps me busy. This is last years flyer.

Weekend Surprise
I was at a conference this weekend for my day job as a financial advisor (25 years) and a friend there asked me to come out to his car so he could give me something. At the car, he pulled this out and gave it to me. They were given out as prizes at a conference probably 10 years ago and I didn’t win one at that time. My friend knew I wanted one so he show up with this one which had been hanging in the old office. I was blown away. Now begins the slow and careful process of getting it properly set up and playing.

Sadly my dog just passed away. He was my biggest fan and I was his. I miss him terribly. He was truly a great dog.
