Rep Cadence or Set Duration
Whats your go to when training yourself or your clients. Do you focus on rep Cadence say a 5-5 or 10-10 or is it solely a focus on set duration example 60s set 90s set 120s set. Are there trainers that just focus on set duration and if you get 1 or 2 extra reps next time you add more weight? I normally focus on both cadence and set duration for myself and my clients. Typically I use a 5-5 Cadence with either 60 second set or 90 seconds. This gives us 6rp and 9rp sets. Interested in what others maybe using.

@Jeffrey Shaw interesting approach Jeffrey. So no MMF no set rep no set TUL. How do you govern session duration 🤔 Thats a new way of doing it for me that's for sure. I work with set durations of 1min 1.5min and 2min I run a 5-5 cadence. This gives me 6rp 9rp and 12rp, I do 4 wks of each for each client. Say a client is doing a 9rp cycle and gets 11rps we make an note and next time we up the weight or if the hit 7rps we drop the weight. Thats just how I do it anyway. Loss of form and MMF to me are the same as the target muscles fail form is lost. But I could be wrong.
What is your Session Price?
What is your personal training session price? Please comment below using this format: 1) If you have different session prices based on purchase volume (eg 3m, 6m, 12m etc) or frequency (eg 1x a week vs 2x a week), please provide a blended mean average. 2) If your session length is different to 30-minutes, please mention in your comment.

@Brent Norton like a charge by "Time" or "ppl". Like if by time and you charge $40 per 30min and you say train 4ppl in a small group would it be $10 each 🤔 that sort of thing?

@Lawrence Neal is there somewhere a video of Luke going into more detail on equipment he likes for each movement and why? I noticed he mentioned DS have a mix of equipment in their studios, different machines for different body parts etc. I'd love more insight into his selection process and criteria.

@Lawrence Neal I use it in my private studio gym. the tempo makes it really easy to visually check everyone's in sync with each other. I run a 4-1-4-1 tempo. Fitpros seems good too, really happy with it so far. Also they are releasing a booking app soon which I'll use with my clients.

@Lawrence Neal Currently 16 sessions per week and I have a new trial coming this evening. So hopefully it jumps to 18 🙃
Video call next week
Hello everyone, Given that the Coffee Hour calls are on at my midnight I want to host my own video group call. Perhaps a once off perhaps something more regular. If you are interested let me know. I will aim to make it at a time that suits as many people and timezones as possible. Cheers, J
