The clear has been peeling for a while on top and overnight I have it lifting off the hood. Car was repainted years ago post accident when the kid had it. You think I need to base and then clear this or would some clear by itself do the trick? I will obviously be taking this clear coat off. Damn cheapo body shop 😡

Got a fun one for you guys. Porphis sent me a few of their spray guns to put through their paces and give my honest thoughts on. The tricky part is that we’re living in a time where there are a lot of seriously good guns on the market, so this isn’t a “cheap gun vs. expensive gun” kind of test. To make it useful, I decided to compare the Porphis against a few guns I know really well: - Iwata WS400 - Harbor Freight Black Widow HTE - DeVilbiss GTI Pro Lite I put together a short video showing the results and my first impressions. Hi. I wanted to introduce myself and say I don't paint cars but paint vintage sewing machines. That said, because they are "small", they show every imperfection. I joined to gain knowledge on painting the perfect machine. I use a LVLP gun and need more help with the settings for that type gun.
