Be Safe On Your Travels This Weekend
This weekend in a big travel weekend in the US, so hope everyone stays safe and calm. Atlanta airport alone is projecting 2+ million people over the next few days. We'll still be responding in the community, but we might be a little slower than usual. FYI- The first Labor Day Parade in the US was in 1882.

The New Skool Trending Page Algorithm, By The Numbers
Skool changed the trending algorithm for Discovery so I pulled all 30 trending groups and ran the math. The averages - Median size: 624 members - Median price: $99/month - Average size: 1,816 (misleading, see below) - Average price: $137/month - Total on the page: 54,472 members, roughly $3.18M/month gross - Median group revenue: about $85k/month Ignore the average size. Two groups (27.3k and 7.5k members) hold 64% of everyone on the page. Remove them and the average falls to 700. Small groups are getting surfaced - 6 of 30 groups have under 110 members - The smallest has 26 members - Others sit at 51, 83, 94, 97 and 102 - That is 20% of the trending page An algorithm sorted mainly on size would never show a 26 member group. Something now rewards growth rate or recent activity. If you were waiting until you were bigger to launch, this is the window. More groups charge $99 - Under $50: 7 groups - $50 to $99: 10 groups - $100 to $199: 7 groups - $200 and up: 6 groups - 9 of the 30 price between $97 and $99 Price and size barely relate: - A 26 member group charges $250 - A 1,700 member group charges $98 - The highest priced group ($500/month) has only 566 members and is the second biggest earner on the page Sitting at $99 because everyone else does is a choice, not a strategy. Two thirds of trending is AI, ads, or agency - 10 of 30 mention AI directly - 6 more are paid ads or media buying - 25 of 30 are business or money-making offers - Only 5 sit outside that world: psychiatry education, feminine energy, posture and mobility, natural health, SAT prep The copy formula they all use Outcome, plus timeframe, plus risk reversal. - 3 groups use nearly the same line: first client in 90 days or your money back - 3 more lead with a dollar figure of results produced - "Learn Facebook ads" is a topic. "Your first client in 90 days or your money back" is a promise One caveat

@Todd Thornton , sorry I could not follow a bit of what you wrote....when I see statistics, numbers, etc. my mind glazes over. I always blame it on my older brother as he inherited the mathematical brain. He loved numbers, equations, percentages, etc. 🤷‍♂️🙃

🎶 COMMON GROUND: You’re the DJ! 🎤
This one is partly @Oddysey Campbell Oddysey’s fault. 😂❤️ She got us talking about how she’s bringing more music into her community, and it sparked an idea... What if we built a Skoolology playlist together? 🐼 But we're making it a little more interesting. Today, YOU are the DJ. You get to play ONE song for all of us. 💃 Make us dance. 🎤 Make us sing. ❤️ Make us feel something. 🌎 Bring us something from your part of the world. 😂 Or make us seriously question your musical taste. Any decade. Any genre. Any language. BUT WAIT... Apparently Skoolology has also installed an imaginary online karaoke machine. 🎤😂 So here's the real question: What song are you adding to the Skoolology playlist...and would you actually sing it at Skoolology Karaoke? 😂 Choose your status: 🎤 HAND ME THE MIC — I'm singing it! 😬 ONLY WITH BACKUP SINGERS 😂 ABSOLUTELY NOT. I'm the DJ, remember? Drop your song + artist + karaoke status below. 👇 And yes...I said ONE song. Let's see how long that rule lasts. 😂

@Donna Thornton play? Like a musical instrument? My mother had me take piano lessons as a kid, I hated it.... With my small hands/fingers, it was hard to move gracefully over the keys. In my 20s, I tried guitar, but once again, with my small hands, I couldn't really reach the strings and chords. I did play an 18th century fife when I was a living history reenactor in my 30s, but I never played in public, only took lessons.
Poll Q: What % of members in a Skool community ever share their affiliate link?
Nobody publishes a number for this, which is strange given how many growth plans quietly assume members will do the promoting. Let's build our own number from the people in this room. Before you vote, go check your own community. If you're on Pro, don't scroll your member list one profile at a time. Run a member export instead and look for the Referred by column, usually column D. (see image for location) It takes about a minute and turns your answer from a gut feel into something real. Also, in the comments feel free to let us know how you are encouraging members to use your affiliate link? In a typical Skool group, what percent of that group's members ever share their affiliate link for it?

Just taking a guess, I don't know the answer!

@Donna Thornton I share when I see value from that community. Also, I appreciate when the affiliate is 40 to 50%!!

Can I tell you something I used to have completely backwards? I thought I had to feel confident first, and then I'd be able to do the work well. It actually runs the other way around, and figuring that out changed everything for me. Here's what I think you might be doing, because I did it for years. You're waiting to feel ready. You figure confidence is the thing that has to come first, the fuel you need before you can really move. So when you don't feel it, you wait. You tinker. You tell yourself you'll go all in once the confidence finally shows up. But think about that for a second. What if the readiness you've been waiting for was never coming, not because something's wrong with you, but because that's simply not how it works? Confidence isn't the permission slip you get before you start. It's what's left in your hands after you've already done the thing. Let me share with you how this actually looks in my own life, because I still live it. I'll get that little wobble. You know the one. That quiet "hmm, maybe this isn't working, maybe I don't really have what it takes." And then, almost like clockwork, something shows up. A note from someone telling me a post helped them. A member sharing a win. A little celebration in the room. Members supporting each other. And just like that, I feel steady again. Not because I gave myself a pep talk, but because the proof arrived. I didn't think my way back to confident. The evidence did it for me. Here's the part I really want you to hear. You can't practice confidence on its own. There's nothing to feel confident about until you've actually done something, until there's real proof you can point to. So it always comes a little late, after the work, showing up dressed as evidence. Which means all that waiting to feel ready? You're waiting for something that can only arrive once you've already begun. Here's my gentle nudge for you today, and I say it because I believe deeply in you: Stop waiting to feel ready.

I wish I had learned that over 2 years ago....I felt sure that I needed to take in all the training, the videos, the zoom calls before taking action. But my confidence actually came from taking action.... I would suggest to new people to learn > then take action > learn some more > take action > learn > take action....
