New call
Got a new exploratory call with someone this week. Normally I am relatively confident, but my head's all over the place lately. (Wife is on bed rest - last month pregnant; + we have a energetic toddler running around + I'm trying to kickstart my career 😅). Hopefully I won't black out. Wish me luck!

@Joel Arbelo Start outreaching. Even if it sucks. There are millions of potential clients out there. You're not making your chances of success smaller. On the contrary, you make them bigger. Outreaching IS copy. Email copy. You want to convince someone of your service. Show them what you can mean to them and how you would help them achieve their (not your) goals. You will improve along the way and might get good feedback here and there. If you want to learn further: 1. Analyse a piece of copy everyday. First think what this line/ paragraph/... is really doing (showing problem, empathy, introduce a mechanism to solve the problem...). Then look at how that message is worded. How do they convey the message? Then also look at the wording. Copy writing should be simple, because 1. You want to reach EVERYONE. 2. You want to keep their attention. Sure, Dostoyevski's Crime and Punishment is a master piece and sets him apart from other writers. BUT how many people can read two chapters without needing to take a break. 2.Keep writing a piece of copy as often as you can. (Can be your outreach). 3.Think about what skills you are lacking and then come back and see for yourself what you need to learn first. 4.You'll get discouraged. That's normal. Persistance produces winners.
First client
I officially quit my job last week and got a first gig as of today: long term agreement on freelance base for Creative Strategy. 24 -32h a week for 6k (euros) + performance bonuses. I put in the work to learn CS these last few months and started to outreach in the beginning of June. Very excited!!

@Hafsa Baloch I manually send them. The more tailored they are, the better. Def takes some work, but FAR higher chances of response and approval. There are job where they ask you to do everything (from research, conception, briefing, production and media buying) but there are also a lot of jobs where you don't have to do the production or media buying, where it is just research, finding concepts and do the briefing (writing)

@Em Ma it's for a skincare brand :) I only started in January learning copy actually. But I did some kind of bootcamp/academy and I learned a bunch and some more :)
Finally Took The Step
I was confused for a whole two months whether to upgrade or not. I was crying because the card from India was not being accepted. My father gave me his card without asking anything. He said, "You never asked for anything. I don't know what you are doing, but I know you will put in the work, whatever it takes." I went through all the free course and realized how valuable it is. $50 is a big amount for us South Asians. It's like one-sixth of our monthly income. Now I know it's actually serious because I have put in money to save my time. Now it's my responsibility, solely, to do whatever it takes. End of the blame game because I got what I needed.

Good luck! It's all about motivation and persistance :) best step to learn is: take action and don't be afraid to fall flat on your face. The road to success is filled with failures ;)
Launchpad Update: The Truth About Giving Away Sauce for Free
NO WINNER AGAIN (Weekly Engagement Competition): @Shafaq Kazmi got close but it wasn't enough to beat @Waisale Naqiolevu who's a previous engagement competition winner. Pro tip: “You Can Have Everything In Life You Want, If You Will Just Help Enough Other People Get What They Want.” – Zig Ziglar *** THE TRUTH ABOUT FREE SAUCE Look closely at the screenshot I've attached. This is what happens when you give away courses for free. I could click on any random free member of Copywriting Launchpad and this is what their course completion page will look like. The same thing happened when I had a free plan in my other community platform. We got over 1300+ signups and only 9% completed the material. And I knew this was going to happen, even after we moved to Skool. I know you are going to sign up because it's free and then do nothing with the resources I give you. I used to care. I don't anymore. Whoever wants to succeed at copywriting will succeed, even if the only resource he or she has access to is YouTube. Whoever wants to LARP as a copywriter will keep doing that, no matter how many resources he or she's given, free or paid. *** IF YOU WANT TO BE AN EXPERT AT SELLING TO WOMEN Watch this video (tap the link) then follow the instructions I've given you.

I mean, I have to up my learning with your courses for sure. Alex's creative strategy academy will end soon (as will this school year), so I'll have the time to spend on that ànd on outreach 😄
