Gavin....that's too bad but I am partial to the old school 66-67 Chevy II but I like the square body you have....sounds great.....looking forward to getting mine running......I am growing impatient to get the LS1 to at least start to break it in.

Drag strip testing
Took the wife’s car out for some testing to find a small electrical issue but got that resolved quick. This is a dart block 441” engine with Frankenstein m311 heads. This car made 5 passes this time out and it went 6.311 @ 109.7, 6.318 @ 109.8, 6.315 @ 109.5, 6.309 @ 109.7, 6.311 @ 109.9 She even let me drive it to work that day!!

Valvetrain geometry
If you are ever going HUGE camshaft, make sure to check the valvetrain geometry before putting it together, it looks good until the we reach max lift!

I need to do this as well. I lost the cam card that came with the new cam but found the cam box with the specs for the cam. This is a larger cam that my engine builder put together for this motor. I hope I can get an idle to break in the motor with a factory tune on the PCM(stock 97 vette for factory tune per spear tech teechnician) Got to say I'm stepping into uncharted territory here so will see where it leads to. Lot of money spent and I do not want to mess it up.....I need to ease into this w/o screwing up and make a mess of this new engine build.

Where do you find the time?
Not posting this for answers but instead venting frustrations and would love to hear others stories on how you do it. For example me , 8-5 M-F working for the man, first responder to major weather events which may include weekends. I work with my dad every Saturday either on someone’s LT/LS engine or our c10 trucks 64,65,66 , Sunday is reserved for family/friends and car shows. I also created content for my small but loyal YouTube channel which takes a tremendous amount of time and effort. I have been working on my 66 c10 for 3 years now and I am at what I would say is the final push, but lately I can’t even touch the truck. I am too busy working on other peoples stuff which is a good problem to have but dam. I have everything I need to finish what I consider as a bad ass patina truck and have done everything myself and I mean everything. I will throw in a few pics but would love to hear from others on how you do it or make the time for your own project.

You would think you have the time to work on your car when your retired like I am but always something to do even when your retired. Something to fix or install around the house, lawn care, etc,etc. I am a novice at this build stuff but I take my time and seek advise when I want to try and do it myself. Time flies by so use it wisely.
