Have you ever noticed that sometimes you can handle your child’s behaviour reasonably well… and another time, the same sort of behaviour gets under your skin almost instantly? They ignore you. Yell back. Refuse to cooperate. Have another meltdown. And suddenly you can feel yourself getting pulled straight into it. This is something I spoke about at an expo over the weekend, and it’s also what we’re exploring inside the Energy-Wise Parenting Hub this week. Because sometimes the useful question isn’t only: “Why is my child reacting like this?” It can also be: “What has just become active in me?” Maybe it’s a thought: “I can’t do this again.” “They never listen to me.” “What if this keeps getting worse?” Or perhaps there aren’t words at all. Just a sudden rush of: fear, anger, pressure, helplessness, urgency or frustration. This isn’t about blaming yourself for your child’s behaviour. It’s about becoming more aware of what is happening underneath your own reaction, so you have more choice in what happens next. This Thursday night in Energy-Wise LIVE, we’re focusing on: NOTICE WHAT’S ACTIVE We’ll explore what tends to activate us, how to begin recognising it before it takes over, and use some real family situations to practise looking beneath the reaction. 🌿 Thursday 10 September ⏰ 8:00 PM Melbourne time 📍 Inside the Energy-Wise Parenting Hub If this is something you recognise in yourself, you’re very welcome to come and join us. Come with a real situation, a question, or simply come along and listen. 💚
