Sell Newsletter Sponsorships? 👀
I'm looking to test some paid newsletter placements to grow my self-publishing community. Specifically, I'm looking for people who have an engaged email list that overlaps with authors, aspiring authors, self-publishers, creators, entrepreneurs, digital products, or people interested in building additional income streams. I'm open to paying for: - A featured section inside your regular newsletter - A dedicated email - A sponsored recommendation - Other creative email partnership ideas I'm not looking to purchase an email list — I'm looking to pay you to introduce my community to your audience. If you offer something like this, drop your: 👉 List size 👉 Average open rate / average opens 👉 Audience niche 👉 Your rate for a placement I'm especially interested in testing smaller, highly engaged niche lists — you don't need a massive audience. If there's a good audience fit, I'd love to test a few partnerships.

A Busy Community Is Not Necessarily a Successful Community
It is very easy to become obsessed with engagement on Skool. More posts. More comments. More points. More challenges. More activity. Activity can be useful. But activity is not the same thing as success. I come at this as an educator. In education, we do not ask students to do things simply so they look busy. We ask them to do things because those activities help move them toward an outcome. I think community design should work the same way. For one community, daily conversation might be essential. For another, the important behaviour might be attending one call a month. For another, it might be implementing something, making a connection, or taking the next step in your business. Inside the Build Lab Standard Tier, I help you decide what meaningful participation looks like for your community. Then you can stop chasing engagement for engagement’s sake. Join us today! Upgrade to annual for a 39% savings and a strategy hour with me so that you get unstuck and start making decisions you can feel confident about!

Also as far as SEO I do optimize my group and keep it public for maximum visibility between Google and AI crawlers!😉

We Have A Mascot!
This is a fun one. This morning, I received a DM from @Joe Hache because he has created a mascot for the skool CLASSIFIEDS. Meet "CLASSY"! I'm sure you'll love her as much as I do. Thanks, Joe! You can check out Joe's community, The Creative Jukebox here.

Your book launch is decided months before the book exists
So check this out. Most authors market a book everywhere except the one platform where people are already searching for the problem the book solves. They'll do the podcast circuit, the launch emails, the socials, and skip YouTube entirely because it looks like a production job rather than a marketing one. What makes YouTube work for authors isn't production quality. It's timing. A reader audience built after launch week arrives too late to do anything for the launch itself. Built in the months before, you're publishing to people who already know your name, already trust your thinking, and are waiting for the thing to exist. The videos don't need to be about the book either. They need to be about the problem the book solves, answering the questions your future readers are already typing into the search bar. Do that for a few months, and the book becomes the obvious next step rather than the thing you're pushing at the end of every video. I'm covering the whole approach live with Lynn Smargis tomorrow, Tuesday 18th August, 7 pm to 8 pm London time, 2 pm EST, 11 am PST, inside her community for professionals writing and publishing their own book. Worth an hour if you're an author, a ghostwriter, or you're helping clients get books out into the world. If you're working on turning YouTube into a traffic engine rather than a content treadmill, that's what we focus on inside this call.
