Gibberish
📅 Daily Check-in - August 22, 2026 💭 Reflection: "Yesterday was a matter of the mind was willing but the body wasn't. This bug that I got from the boys is nasty. We've got a bug of sorts from different sources. Mum and Dad got theirs from A&E and I got mine from the boys. Hubby has got away with it - again! I survived the board meeting. It was interesting - the mind and fingers weren't talking to each other so I now have to decipher what I typed lol. Some of it looks like gibberish! I might send a draft out to the board members - they'll understand why. I did get the option to cancel the meeting but as we had external people joining that were hard to schedule in, it was in the best interests of the Trust to continue on even if it wasn't in my best interests. Anyway, I survived it. The bug is now at it's height so hopefully over the next couple of days, I'll start turning the corner. It's Mum and Dad that I feel sorry for. They're struggling and Dad is now in a lot of pain with his coughing. We're such a happy household at the moment! May things improve during the day. At least there's no football. We've pulled my eldest - he won't be well enough to focus on a game. Maybe Tuesday he can return to training with any luck!" 📊 Wellbeing Scores: 😊 Happiness: 6/10 ⚡ Energy: 4/10 🔥 Motivation: 6/10 ⭐ Average: 5.3/10 ✅ Activities from yesterday: 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🥗 Healthy Eating 🍺 No Alcohol 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🥦 Ate Vegetables 🍳 Home Cooked Meal 📋 Planned Day 👥 Quality Time 👂 Active Listening

@Judy Hamilton That seems to be easier said than done. I've had my eldest talking the hind legs off a donkey for the past hour. My brain is already fried 🤣

@Judy Hamilton thank you - hugs welcome!
Sleep flipped on it's head...literally
I had a challenging yet inspiring and productive week. I committed to doing a live online training for 3 days BUT the timezone ended up being opposite to mine. So I had 3 days of 1am-7am (3 full nights) and then had a normal day on top of that. It was CRAZY and has totally messed up my sleep domino but it was totally worthwhile. Who would have thought I could be productive at 1am...maybe I can opt in for Jim's live sessions 🤔

I'm so glad it was worth while to you. I often find that I start feeling productive when the house is quiet - a dangerous path to go down I know but sometimes needs must. And in your case, it definitely was worth it. Good on you for sticking to it and hopefully we'll see you on the 2am call (4am NZST).

@Judy Hamilton totally agree with you on that one! 🤩
A little tinnitus reminder for today 💙
Have you ever noticed that the moment you start checking your tinnitus, you suddenly hear it even more? “Is it louder today?” “Is that a new sound?” “Why is it still there?” I’ve had those moments too. But sometimes, instead of trying to figure it all out, I just notice it and carry on with whatever I was doing. Make the coffee. ☕ Go for the walk. 🚶‍♀️ Talk to someone. Get back to work. The sound doesn't have to disappear before you get your attention back. What helps you stop checking and get back to your day?

What helps me with tinnitus is finding something unrelated to focus on. Intentionally moving my attention away, removes the distraction. It's still there but it's not aggravating me anymore!
Excited for the challenge
Hi! My name is Maggie, I live in Ontario, Canada. I am a school teacher, a mom of two beautiful girls and have been married to my husband for ten years. I have recently been diagnosed with ADHD and am hoping to learn how to be less critical of myself, find out what I truly want and need in this life to thrive and be happy being my true self. I want to push past my limiting beliefs and become my true self and shine.

Truly excited that you found us here! We look forward to hearing about your realisations as you go through your journey. Welcome to this community and to the 5-day challenge that will start soon!
Getting started
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and finally saw the mismatch I've been blaming myself for. I'm wired to think before I speak, and I've been living in rooms that move too fast to wait for me. And I caught the real reason I say yes when I mean no: I'm not saying yes to help, I'm saying yes to avoid a reaction.

What a wonderful realisation! I too am a chronic "yes" person. I don't like letting others down and yet I let myself down as I'm stuck with things that I don't want to do. I look forward to seeing what other realisations you discover on your journey!
