Video recommendation - Every father needs to hear this!
This is well worth a watch. In this collection of talks, Dr Jordan Peterson reflects on the significance of fatherhood and the responsibility fathers have to prepare their children for life—not by removing every difficulty, but by encouraging them to become capable, courageous and independent. He explores the importance of being genuinely present, setting appropriate boundaries and taking pleasure in seeing your children grow. One of the strongest themes is that good fathers don’t try to keep their children dependent upon them; they give them the security and encouragement needed to eventually stand on their own two feet. There’s plenty here to agree with, question and reflect upon: https://youtu.be/IlNFLig7pSk?is=5k6DC0K3sNkAW3Xj What part of the video stood out to you most?

The part that stood out most to me was the idea that the purpose of fatherhood isn’t to make our children dependent upon us, but to help them become strong and capable enough to eventually stand without us. There’s something quite bittersweet about that. We protect, guide and prepare them, knowing that doing the job well means gradually letting go. To me, that’s fatherhood as stewardship. They aren’t ours to control or shape in our own image, but they are entrusted to our care while we help them discover who they can become.
Relaxing Sunday
Just a nice, relaxing family walk this Sunday for us. Garwnant - our favourite place.

Father & Son trail run
We went out to do 8 miles, but he twisted his knee a bit so we cut it short to 6. But it’s such a blessing to have one on one time, some shared hardship and fun experiences.

@Adam Lloyd It seems ok this morning, we iced it when we got home and he chilled for the rest of the day. These kids are made of rubber and magic, heal up so fast.

@Adam Lloyd First time in his birthday running shoes and even with a sore knee he was only seconds off his PB time and finished top 10.
