Ouch!
I haven’t been on here in a bit. I’m still here. But just fyi I broke my wrist so I’m benched for a bit. A young lady ran into me at the rink from behind. I was going regular rink direction and she was skating backwards. Obviously not looking where she was going. Sent me flying right off my feet. So I had surgery last Wednesday for plate and screws. I’ll be back though. I am putting on my skates and just sitting on the couch. I’m also going to do some off skate exercises in my socks. This sucks so bad.

How’s the healing? I’ve seen skaters skate with broken wrists although risky. It’s not like a broken ankle 😬
Why buying expensive Riedell 3200s won't fix your terrible spin technique. 🛼
I see so many beginners drop $800 on custom boots and Arius plates, thinking the hardware will magically cure their balance issues. Then they hit the rink, try a pivot-back6 combo, and immediately eat the floor. The pain is real (especially the bunions!). I was frustrated for years until I stopped blaming my wheels and installed 'The Silent Hand-Off' into my practice sessions. Instead of forcing the momentum, the hand-off trains your body to transfer your center of gravity seamlessly from the toe manual into the spin, letting physics do the work instead of your ankles. What's the hardest part of your skating journey right now—nailing the footwork, or just finding the confidence to hit the floor?

Outdoor wheels?
Hi there…looking for advice on wheels for outdoor. I am a beginner and have Moxi Lollies with Moxi Gummies…I am skating on ashphalt streets and sidewalks (only because that’s all I have available…no skate rinks near me)…I like that these wheels can ride over cracks, rocks etc but T stops seem difficult. I am able to turn backwards and do a scissor stop, or backwards double toe stop but this is not always an ideal way to stop 🫣. I read that a smaller width outdoor wheel might be easier? Looking for insight…thanks

Check out radar energy or atom pulse for outdoor wheels The Moxi gummies are too soft imo. They felt spongy when I tried them, and they’re quite small. I doubt you could go much smaller on your plates.
Multiple skates
Hay fam! Do you think it hinders progress to have multiple pairs of skates? I finally got the boot I love but I want it in a different color as well. I would use the same angle plates, not necessarily the same brand though.Thoughts???

@Josie Torres you’re not wrong 😅

I get what you’re saying. It can be disorienting switching up different pairs and takes a different kind of warmup to recalibrate. I used to have multiple pairs. I’ve just paired it down to two. One for indoors and another for outdoors.
