Green means GO!!
It’s a rainy day here today so no light catching wrist roll 😢 I’m wearing such a great watch that punches way above its price point!! As much as it pains me To say this 😜😜 Thank you to @Warren Money for his relentless shaming until I succumbed to his wishes and bought this one!!

A Little Grand Seiko Green 😎⌚️
Grand Seiko is one of those brands that I think is just plain fun to spend time with. They have a way of taking something that initially looks fairly simple and then filling it with little details that keep revealing themselves the longer you wear it. And naturally, with this one, the dial is the first thing that gets me. The deep green is inspired by British Racing Green, while the texture comes from Grand Seiko’s famous Mount Iwate pattern. The name Tōgè means “mountain pass,” tying the design back to the landscape around Grand Seiko’s Shizukuishi manufacture in northern Japan. What I really enjoy is how much the dial changes. In softer light it can look dark, subdued and almost black. Then the light catches it and suddenly all that texture appears. Add the gold GMT hand and there’s just enough contrast to keep things interesting without making the watch feel busy. That’s probably what I like most about Grand Seiko in general. They tend to reward looking a little closer. The polishing, the hands, the indices, the dial work — there are all sorts of small things going on that you might completely miss at first glance. And while watches like this certainly sit in the luxury end of the hobby, I try not to lose sight of what the whole thing is supposed to be about: enjoying the watch that happens to be on your wrist today. Today, this one made me smile. That’s good enough for me. 😎

Breaking out my Heirloom Omega Speedmaster! This watch was my father in law's! He and I were very close. As I had been talking about him to other people yesterday, it put me in the mood to "bring him to work" with me today. I remember when he got this watch. He was starting to struggle seeing his other watch in order to tell the time, because the champagne dial and hands were too close of a match. So this was his answer!! 🤣. He also struggled to see this one and stopped wearing it shortly after he bought it. I remember saying to him what made you think that silver hands on a silver dial would be easier to see than the champagne hands on a champagne dial? He just said I didn't - Your Mother in Law bought it for me and won't let me return it!! 🤣. Which was basically his way of saying I saw it, I liked it, but didn't realize I couldn't see it until it was too late, and I don't want to admit that, so I'll keep it and blame her!! He was such a character and so full of joy and fun.

Ironman Wednesday!
I haven't brought out Ironman in a while, and the other day I saw one of my grown children drooling over it, so I figured I wear it before it gets stolen!! 😎
