BENT THE CURVE™ | THE FOREST FILE
Hope, with receipts. | October 2026 The Amazon’s numbers changed. Brazil’s national satellite program recorded 5,731 km² of Amazon deforestation during August 2024–July 2025. Its new estimate for August 2025–July 2026 is 3,335 km², a 41.8% decrease and the lowest annual figure in the monitoring series that began in 1988. That latest number is preliminary. October brought a separate crisis of fires and smoke in parts of the Amazon. Forest clearing and wildfire damage have different measurement windows, and each needs attention. Our three-slide Forest File looks at the shift and the work required to sustain it. This is the beginning of Bent the Curve™, our continuing examination of real-world changes that leave evidence behind. STANDARD DASHBOARD PREMIUM BRIEF VIP DOSSIER FOR THE CONVERSATION What would need to remain in place for this reduction to last through changing budgets, leadership, and conditions on the ground? Trickster-Text Thursday: Linguistic Disturbance
Meaning Is Slightly Unsupervised Here (Activity) Let Language Loosen, Giving Linguistic Disturbance (Exercise) Post one to five lines where language bends, slips, or misbehaves. Short. Witty. Unpolished. (Micro Poem) Let meaning drift just far enough to notice. Topic: Con Artist 🎭 Some words have been hiding a little deception in plain sight! Choose a word beginning with “CON” and expose the con hiding inside it. Connection. Confidence. Conversation. Consideration. Make the word betray its own meaning. The Challenge: One word. One suspicious prefix. Up to five lines of linguistic mischief. _________ My Example: I thought we were having a CONversation. Turns out you were just CONverting my words into evidence. Some people don’t communicate; they cross-examine. The con is in the word. Your job is to catch it.

Morning rush at 90°. Panic clouds attempted a takeover. Pressure rising, patience tested. By sunset, resolution cleared the forecast. Calm skies reclaimed their territory. #FromTheHeartTheMeteorologistSpeaks

STEAL FROM YOURSELF Your next piece may already exist somewhere you forgot to call writing. Consider this your official excuse to snoop through your own archive. This week, head into your notes, texts, voice memos, captions, old drafts, screenshots, journals, emails to yourself, abandoned documents, or anywhere else your language has been quietly collecting dust. Your mission is to find one live fragment. ☀️A sentence. ☀️A phrase. ☀️A half-finished thought. ☀️A line you still like. ☀️A voice note with voltage. ☀️A paragraph that deserved better than exile. Then move it somewhere intentional. You can revise it, expand it, preserve it, record it, or simply mark it as worth returning to. BONUS ROUND Tell us only where you found it. Notes app? Old text thread? Voice memo? Journal? Caption draft? Forgotten document? No excerpt required. WEEKEND RULE You are fully allowed to steal from your former self. 😂 Past-you already did some of the labor. Current-you gets to decide what still has a pulse. POLL · What did you recover?

Found something in archive that long forgotten…
Tap-in Tuesday- Micro Offering
Today centers contact around… Legacy What mark do you want to leave on the world, what legacy do you want to leave behind when you ascend ? A small trace. A mark left without explanation. What you offer can be brief. A line. An image. An acknowledgment. Leave it where attention happened to land. Here's my offering: I want the hearts that I touch to feel a bit lighter. I want the people that I encounter to feel encouraged and inspired to keep pushing forward.

Legacy in my Footprints When my breath becomes an echo, let my words remain as seeds. Not in monuments of marble, but in souls I helped believe. Let my children carry wisdom, not the weight of my scars. And when I ascend beyond the clouds, may my legacy bloom where I planted love, leaving fingerprints of faith on hearts that once forgot how to rise. (c)Haitiannao 10/20/2026
