Temptation comes in many forms: food, sex, substances, relationships, comfort… and sometimes the hardest things to say NO to are the things that once made us feel good. For me, one of those things has been food. I’ve struggled with emotional eating and my weight most of my life. I have dealt with sexual abuse, a mother on drugs, and raising my brother. I am also a single mother to a 12-year-old girl. I used to joke that I was “born fat” because I came into this world almost 9 lbs 😂. But underneath the jokes, I’ve realized food became comfort and now I’m on a journey to lose 50+ lbs and break that cycle. I recently walked away from a dead-end situationship too. Some days I’m tempted to reach out, explain myself one more time, or bargain for something I already know isn’t enough. But I’m learning: I’m no longer accepting scraps in love, in life, or from myself. My weight has kept me hiding and isolating for too long. I’m coming out of that isolation now. I’m choosing discipline, healing, movement, and purpose even when it’s HARD. I’m sharing this today for transparency and accountability. Sometimes saying it out loud is part of changing your mindset. Everything that comforts you doesn’t deserve control over you. Protect your purpose. Choose what keeps you free. ❤️ What are you learning to say NO to so you can say YES to your next level? Grateful for this community. Have a blessed and purposeful day! 🙏🏾✨
