Had a late lunch with a couple of friends this afternoon and a discussion about fragrances came up. One guy asked about Gravite and if anyone’s tried it after seeing the commercials, or Bella Vita, TCZ, and Gumoon which beautiful women on TikTok “guaranteed would drive women wild.” I mentioned I have tried Gravite and found it to be a very good, but an unremarkable, fragrance IMHO but have never heard of of the other three as I’m not familiar with TikTok or what products they promoted. Anyway, out or curiosity I thought I would ask the group if anyone was familiar with the TikTok fragrances. Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend.

It’s been awhile since I’ve picked up something new, and I’ve been wanting to experiment with different DNAs. Heard a lot about how great Amouage Decision is, but I haven't ever been a fan of the house. Some of their stuff is a bit too funky for me. Decision is supposed to be a good introduction to the house for people like me. I’ve been looking for samples for so long, but everywhere has been sold out. Enter Rayhaan Vantage… Saw a few reviews and posts in other forums about it, and people who like Decision have spoken highly about this one. I’ve heard it’s not a 1:1 but stands very well on its own as a fragrance anyway. Luckily, I was able to find this at my local discounter who just got one in. So far, I’m really enjoying it. The opening has a nice pop of orange along with a spicy sweetness. As it settles down, it gets sweeter and sweeter. The drydown is a nice, spicy vanilla sweetness with a middle eastern edge. Definitely has some projection the first 3 hours or so but after that, settles close to the skin for a pleasant incense sweetness. That sweetness lingers on skin for about 10 hours. My wife said it was ok, but she prefers the super mass appealing stuff. Wore this yesterday afternoon out and about and got two unsolicited compliments from strangers. Wearing it this morning again and have already received one. I’m sure it’s no where near Amouage quality, but it definitely makes me want to try the real deal. This one might be a big winner!

Today’s wear is Citizen Jack Absolute, and this is one of those fragrances that reminds me you don’t always need a complicated note breakdown to make something work. Right from the opening, I get a big hit of sweet, juicy melon with bergamot giving it some freshness. The melon is definitely the star early on. It has this almost tropical, watery fruitiness without going completely aquatic. As it settles, pineapple starts working its way in with amber, and that is where the fragrance begins to warm up. I wouldn’t call this a sharp pineapple. It feels smoother and sweeter, almost blended right into the melon rather than sitting on top of it. Then comes my favorite part the drydown. The vanilla, amber and musk smooth everything out and give Citizen Jack Absolute that creamy, sweet finish. The fruit is still hanging around, but now it has more warmth and body underneath it. It comes across clean, fruity, sweet and very easy to wear. This definitely has some of that modern fruity-musky DNA people associate with fragrances like Erba Pura, but I think Citizen Jack Absolute is easier to wear and not quite as aggressive. Longevity: Around 7-8 hours is a realistic range for me, with traces hanging around longer depending on how much I spray. Projection: Strong during the opening and first couple of hours. People around you are going to smell this one. After that initial push, it gradually settles into a more manageable scent bubble. Sillage: Good to very good. It leaves a noticeable sweet, fruity trail without needing to completely overspray it. I would just be careful with the sprays when it is really hot outside because that combination of melon, pineapple, amber and vanilla can get pretty sweet. WHEN WOULD I WEAR IT? Spring, summer and the warmer part of fall are where I think this really works. Casual days, going out, vacations, daytime dates, brunch or just jeans and a T-shirt it fits all of that easily. This isn’t a fragrance I have to think too hard about. Sweet fruit, creamy vanilla, musk, good performance and an easy-to-like scent profile.

I have a cold, so I wont do a big review. 1st impressions, this seems like a very close clone of Aventus Absolu. Super strong. Even with my nose half plugged, this is coming through. Im kind of addicted to the dry down already. I expect this will be worn often
