That’s really cool. I would love to read more about that. At the end, she was saying that someone is already copying the formulas. That might be a fun thing to pick up
New release JPG Fleur de Male - woof, not for me
So I thought I’d spin the wheel and try out the new re-release of JPG Fleur de Male. Woof, it is absolutely not for me. And I think… it’s not going to be for everyone. What I can say is it is very well balanced, relatively complex with a lot going on that all work together, but is just wholly unappealing to me. I’m not the biggest fan of florals (I’ve tested Le Beau Narcisse and Flower Edition and reacted pretty negatively to those) but was wondering if I’d like this one based on the interesting note breakdown. The florals in this don’t work for me the same way they don’t work for me in Le Beau Narcisse - something about the orange blossom has an edge that doesn’t sit well with me, it’s less smooth and less crowd pleasing than say what you find in YSL Myslf. But on top of that, there’s some really weird stuff going on in this new release - a fair amount of bright powdery green, with a hint of pine that I do like, but a dusty earthy undertone (maybe from the hay or tobacco note?) that to me really takes this in an unappealing direction. In the air it’s not terrible - but up close it’s not appealing to smell which is a must have for me (if I’m not sniffing my arms like a monkey all day, it’s not a keeper…). There’s kind of a retro feel about it as well, in a nod to the OG I think this will appeal to fans of the OG and maybe people who tolerate florals or more interesting : challenging designer compositions - but unfortunately this one is not for me. Anyone here tried the new one or love the OG?

Yeah, me either, and I love Narcisse enough to consider it my favorite designer release of 2026. But this..... I don't know what this is supposed to be

@Nick Clemente It made me mad. LOL. It's just a confusing mishmosh to me. Narcisse has that nice dry down and at least has a direction and a personality.

@Tanmay Soni Welcome to the group! I agree with your perspective. Having a good scent is like having a good handshake, or wearing a good watch. It's a subtle thing that can convey class, sophisticiation, and warmth.
SOTD - Montagne Perceval
@Raymond Reeves was super kind to send this to me. I've been enjoying a decant of PDM Percival over the summer, but the OG is too expensive for my usual budget. Montagne is, quite literally, the next best thing. I've heard that it is very similar to A&F Fierce, and I can tell that it is definitely inspired by it. There's a bit of that 1990's / 2000's mallrats scent to it. I used to kind of hate that, but over the years, it's really grown on me, and now it's a good nostalgia that brings back some of the friendlier memories and good times wandering around the mall with my friends and girlfriend. The nice thing here is that the dry down shifts quite a bit away from that and becomes a very fresh, lavender, clean soapy scent that's great for hot summer days or being at the office when you need something that won't offend anybody. Just keep the sprays light as the projection in the opening is incredibly strong, and it's quite easy to choke people out if you go too heavy. This is definitely a Top 10 in the clone department for me. It's taking a place of pride next to my other Montagne bottles.
