Advise needed
Hi everyone, A customer has opened a non-delivery case and is asking for a replacement. I’ve checked the order and noticed that they misspelled their street name when entering their delivery address. The rest of the address, including the city and postcode, was correct. I’m wondering what the best way to handle this would be. Would you advise letting the customer go through Etsy Purchase Protection first and, once Etsy has reviewed the case, offering them a discount code to reorder with the corrected address? I’m also considering sending a replacement as a goodwill gesture, although obviously I don’t want to be out of pocket if the order may be covered by Purchase Protection. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation where the buyer made a small mistake in their address? What did you do? Any advice would be really appreciated. Thank you!

@Jd Fennell I did already acknowledge his request and we had been communicating about the issue. He then messaged me three more times this morning while I was trying to work out the best solution to offer him. I’ve advised him to go through Etsy Purchase Protection, and I’ve also offered him a 40% discount if he would still like to place a new order. He then blamed me for the incorrect address, so I sent him a screenshot showing the exact address he provided when placing the order. Hopefully, he’ll accept that it was simply a mistake with the address and proceed with Purchase Protection as advised.

@Laura Ballaam thank you Laura I did also offered him a discount but he seems quite unhappy at the moment so not sure if he will use it.
Digital query
Hi, I’m trying to understand how some Etsy sellers are setting up their listings. I’ve noticed physical wall art listings that have an option/variation such as “Digital Email – within 24 hours”, alongside the physical print options. How is this actually set up on Etsy? If the listing is primarily a physical product, how can the seller offer a digital file by email without having to add tracking? More importantly, how does this work with Etsy Star Seller? If the buyer chooses the digital email option, does that order get excluded from the on-time dispatch/tracking metric, meaning it won’t negatively affect the shop’s Star Seller status? I’m seeing established shops using this setup while still displaying the Star Seller badge, so I’d really like to understand exactly how they’re doing it and whether this is an Etsy-supported setup. Thanks!

@Mihai Volintiriu I did add the country code, date and a few letters from the customer’s name, as I saw that’s what you mentioned doing. Maybe that’s why Etsy has recognised mine as a tracking number?

First Frame Sales!
A little milestone I’m so excited to share — I made my first framed-print sale last night, then woke up to my second one this morning! 🥹 Two framed orders in less than 24 hours! 🎉

4 Months in and a great day on the move.
Just a little encouragement for anyone still building their store and wondering if all the work is worth it… Last night I was packing for a long-haul flight when an order came through for one of my regular prints. The artwork was already with Print Shrimp, so I imported the order, paid through my wallet and carried on packing. Order 1. A couple of hours’ sleep later, driving to the airport when another order came in. This time it was a brand-new design that I hadn’t uploaded the artwork to PS yet. Order 2. I checked in my bags, found a quiet corner at the airport, resized the artwork on my phone, uploaded it to Print Shrimp and got the order sorted before boarding my flight. When I landed after the first leg, I discovered I’d sold a digital download while I was in the air. Even better, nothing to do! Order 3. Then another customer bought three prints. Two were already uploaded, but the 3rd was a new design so found a quiet corner in the lounge -and resized the missing artwork on my phone, uploaded it and got the order into production before catching my next flight.Order 4,5 and 6 ! And that’s when it really struck me. 6 Orders and my little business travelled with me. No stockroom, no packing boxes and no trips to the post office. Just my phone, my artwork and Print Shrimp taking care of the printing, packing and shipping. There is a HUGE amount of work involved in building your store and getting everything set up, and there have definitely been moments when I’ve wondered what on earth I’m doing! But this is the payoff. While I was packing, driving, sleeping and flying across the world, my shop just kept going. So for anyone still knee-deep in creating, resizing, uploading and wondering whether all those hours are worth it - just keep going. You’re not just building a shop. You’re building yourself a little bit of freedom. ❤️
