Bypassing vs. Integrating and Embodying
Yesterday we talked about bypassing versus healing. Honoring the path, the layers, the highs and lows, and most importantly that we each have our own process and expression.
So this brings me to Part 2.
The other thing I've been noticing is that we often talk about feeling and emotion and learning to identify it or label it. We also might learn to release it or move through it, which is an important part of the healing journey.
But I'd say that being able to sit with and hold those emotions as well as everything that comes up with them is a true hallmark of integration and embodiment. When you can sit with that anger or sadness and not let it consume you and cause you to spiral and project. When you can sit with it and recognize, yes, this is anger or yes, this is sadness... and I honor this feeling because I'm meant to feel these things. Even more, when we can feel these and not assign meaning to them, but just notice them for what they are without judgement.
This brings up capacity. How much capacity do we have to sit with those things that used to cause us pain, fear, or make us uncomfortable or anxious? The more we do this deep in our work and connect to our divine selves, our capacity grows and expands, along with joy, love, and our ability to really feel our interconnectedness and oneness. We can meet ourselves and others with a greater level of compassion and service.
I've been thinking about that quite a bit lately. Also, how this relates to my ability to be a stewardward of community, healing, and transformation.
some of your posts have gotten me thinking so I wanted to acknowledge you for that! 🥰🙏🏼
What do you think? Have you tried sitting with and holding some of the feelings that aren't comfortable?
