Today's outfit includes the first wearing of one of my top 3 all-time favorite vintage purchases. It's a camel-hair sports jacket, but the colors suggest anything other than camel hair. It's a dark brown with a light Prince of Wales check ina light brown Glenn check and a pale blue overcheck. It is amazingly soft, very well made, well sized without tailoring, and fits a recent interest of mine: fabrics that have a default oclor or pattern but are not in that default for the item in question. I have a seersucker jacket in white with tan and gray stripes vs. the traditional blue stripes. I also received some peccary gloves in oxblood. Although there may not be a standard peccary glove color, oxblood seems antithetical for a peccary animal...
Finally, I am wearing another new pocket square from Shibumi in their Japanese classic art format. I love this art format in pocket squares now.
RMRS Post — Autumn Client-VC Separates
Today’s ensemble combines a substantial camel-hair jacket with gray trousers, burgundy accents, and oxblood leather—professional for client and internal VCs while richly textured for autumn.
  • Odd Jacket — BOJ-014 (Walter-Morton): A dark-brown American-made camel-hair jacket with light-brown and mid-blue detailing, notched lapels, and a structured two-button front. Its heavy twill and matte finish anchor the layered outfit.
  • Vest — VWC-008 (Hisdern): A light-maroon wool-blend vest with red, yellow, and green windowpane detailing. The five-button front supplies a warm bridge between the brown jacket and burgundy tie.
  • Slacks — SL-020 (Joseph Abboud): Heavy American-wool trousers in mid gray with a subtle very-light-gray mini-check resembling a restrained chalk stripe. The high rise, double outward pleats, and wide upper leg create a traditional silhouette beneath the substantial jacket.
  • Shirt — DS-054 (Brisk): A pearl-white, midweight cotton-dobby shirt with straight French cuffs and a classic-straight collar. The highly formal, pocketless front provides a clean foundation; the correct collar stays are 2.75 inches.
  • Undershirt — US-023 (David Archy): A white bamboo-rayon crew-neck undershirt in XL with mid-bicep sleeves and an unusually long torso. Its regular-to-snug fit stays contained beneath the shirt, although the fabric can bunch during extended wear.
  • Tie — NT-100 (Shibumi Firenze): A mottled-burgundy fina-grenadine tie made from Kuska handwoven Japanese silk and sewn by hand in Florence. Its untipped, hand-rolled construction and matte texture add depth without competing with the jacket and vest patterns; a four-in-hand suits its light-to-medium interlining.
  • Braces — SB-011 (Albert Thurston): Limited-edition black woven-silk braces featuring a distinctive geisha motif, numbered 240 of 500. Made in England with a traditional Y-back, button attachments, and silver-tone hardware, they add personality that remains discreet beneath the vest.
  • Pocket Square — PS-045 (Shibumi Firenze): A 16-inch Macclesfield-printed silk square depicting the Hane no Kamuro Ukiyo-e woodblock artwork. Its muted earth tones and fold-dependent vibrant accents connect the jacket, vest, tie, and socks; a restrained puff fold displays the artwork without overwhelming the lapel.
  • Footwear — DSh-021 (Cobbler Union): Oxblood Marco Derby shoes in top-grade European calfskin, built in Almansa on the long, lightly chiseled 722 last. Their Goodyear-welted leather soles and wine-dark finish coordinate naturally with the burgundy tie and warm-brown jacket.
  • Socks — DSo-082 (Mazarin): Pink, over-the-calf ribbed socks made from extra-long-staple cotton with hand-linked toes. The controlled color accent echoes the vest’s red family while remaining largely concealed beneath the gray trousers.
  • Cufflinks — CL-019 (Charles Tyrwhitt): Rhodium-and-enamel cufflinks depicting Earth from the North and South Poles in silver and navy. Their medium-sized, single-sided design gives the French cuffs a distinctive but professional scientific accent.
  • Watch — W-008 (Orient): The 38.4 mm Orient Bambino Version 7 pairs a polished stainless-steel case with a white-silver sunburst dial, cobalt-blue accents, and black leather. Its domed crystal, dauphine hands, and small-seconds presentation bring traditional dress-watch character to the ensemble.
  • Ankle Watch — W-001 (Apple): The titanium Apple Watch is worn on the ankle solely for health and activity tracking. It is not visible and is not part of the outfit’s visual composition.
  • Pen — P-006 (Montblanc): The Meisterstück 149 fountain pen combines black precious resin, platinum trim, and a rhodium-inlaid 18-karat-gold medium nib. Filled with Iroshizuku Kon-peki blue ink, it provides a substantial leadership-grade writing instrument for client notes.
  • Wedding Ring — R-001 (Ellie’s Jewelry): A platinum wedding ring set with diamonds. Its cool metal quietly coordinates with the cufflinks, watch case, and other silver-tone hardware.
  • Business Card Carrier — BCC-004 (Fort Belvedere): A structured German-made bifold carrier in oxblood long-grain box-calf leather with turquoise goat-suede velour inside. Its silver clasp and two-sided construction coordinate especially well with the oxblood Derby shoes.
  • Wallet — WL-002 (Fort Belvedere): A ten-card bifold crafted from antique-mahogany, full-grain bull-hide leather with petrol-blue contrast stitching. The forest-green moiré lining and open-pore grain make it distinctive while allowing the leather to develop a natural patina.
  • Fragrance — FR-013 (Roberto Ugolini): Patina is a strong resinous-woody amber extrait built around resins, amber, vanilla, spices, and woods. A light application complements the camel hair, burgundy, and dark-brown palette while keeping its seven-to-nine-hour presence appropriate for client VCs.
