Author Event Newbie
Hi all. After a summer recovering from a spring book launch with some negative aspects, I’m close to publishing my second book, the companion guided journal/workbook to the first. I’ve secured an author event at a local bookstore and I’m kinda at a loss. First, are there any resources I’m missing to help me (I have ALK). Second, give me any tips for author events, good/bad/ugly that you wish you knew.

Book launch and IngramSpark ordering question
I decided to move my book launch to September 15th. I will be having my launch party on September 19th. I appreciate all of your comments in my past post. A Day With the Mistics: Learning To See the Sunny Side is online for preorders. I am publishing my book through IngramSpark. I do have a question for anyone who has done an international book order with them. I put my order in to be sent to Spain for my illustrator and a message stated something about taxes, IOSS, and EORI. The message mentioned that without these numbers, there could be delays. Has anyone come across this before?

Amazon Ads...Are they worth it?!
What do I need to know about running Amazon Ads for the first time? Is there an ideal time/day? Do I need to have a certain amount of reviews on my book before advertising?
Hey everyone, I’m new here and thought I’d say hello.
I’m working on becoming a better and more consistent writer, and one of the reasons I joined this community was to connect with other authors who are figuring things out too. I’m interested in sharing ideas, talking about what’s actually working, being honest about the parts that are difficult, and learning from each other along the way. I just enjoy conversations about writing and the process behind it. What’s something you’ve been struggling with in your writing lately?
Long tail PR?
Hello everyone! I've been working with a PR company for 3 months and they've helped me transition from book promotion back to my art career, as I am a painter not a writer. However, PR-wise nothing much has happened and I really can't afford to keep paying this exorbitant monthly fee. They've been very diligent about pitching my art and book, but, of course, many opportunities may not gel for several more months. For example, they have me booked for an excellent podcast but in 1 year! As a customer who needs to leave or pause their service, are they obligated to inform me of any successes beyond the 3 months of service for anything already in the pipeline? My agreement with them does not mention this. What would be standard? A fee or no fee? Perhaps @Julie Broad and @Sarah Bean can share their thoughts. Thanks much! And for anyone thinking of hiring PR please start 6 months before publication. I thought I could DIY it but failed and wish I had contracted with a PR firm at the proper time. I don't know whether Book Launchers has this as an a la carte item. Thanks everyone!
