Can I remind you, that beetroot is very good for your heart. Why?
Beetroot is naturally rich in nitrates, which your body converts into nitric oxide. This helps relax and widen your blood vessels, supporting healthy blood flow and blood pressure.
Beetroot also provides antioxidants called betalains, which give it that beautiful deep red colour. Your heart and the whole cardiovascular system loves antioxidants.
I know plenty of people who rarely eat beetroot, so here's my suggestion: give it another go!
- Try it boiled, steamed or baked until tender.
- Grate some raw beetroot into your favourite salad.
- Roast it with olive oil, garlic and herbs for a delicious side dish.
- Juice it
