Thoughts and Commentary Appreciated!

Hello to all,

I have some thoughts regarding the growth of this group. We have thus far created an amazing group of people, and our chats are fantastically diverse and enlightening. Yes, sometimes we have a few debates, but the camaraderie developed is irreplaceable.

Here are my thoughts going forward. I would appreciate all feedback and input as this is your group, too!

No Recordings: I have decided to not record any chats. I do not want to mirror other groups, firstly, and secondly, I want all members of the chats to speak their minds freely without concern of being recorded or streamed on YouTube.

Memberships: Once we reach 50 members, I would like to up this group's subscription to the next tier and start to offer a two tier membership option to all NEWCOMERS. Tier one would remain free for whoever wanted it. The next tier would be a small charge. All current members will retain lifetime free memberships.

My reasoning for this is three fold.

It takes a lot of devoted time to mod and host chats. I have had offers for others to mod, which I am thrilled with, but I have to have the next membership tier to be able to assign administrators and mods with full rights.
I also hope to transition out of being a full time professor (especially since I am trying to relocate) and devote more dedicated time to this project. To be able to do so, I need to replace some income!
I would LOVE to set aside a portion of proceeds from this group to Iranians. I would have to wait to donate until after the sanctions lifted AND we could find a reputable charity, but my current goal would be 10% of net proceeds.
