So today I am still in the same position as my first quiet day post.
Same format, no real sleep (1 hr blocks) between cold showers so I don't rip my skin off.
12 nights
Your body cannot heal if you cannot sleep - that's why it's deemed torture.
This is where the farce gets even better
All the ordeal at the hospital and the stuff they did was a complete waste of time - they did their own generic blood panel, not what the GP ordered. ( So they say )
I have now seen both, and the GP lied ( made a mistake); they didn't request the others 😠
I should have asked them to run a hormone check as well while I was there and saved a few quid🤣
This was on the Friday
They decided to give me some antibiotics and a stronger steroid cream/ointment and a strong antihistamine to help me sleep.
Still bearing in mind I don't like or use any skin coverings, even long sleeves or trousers, but I have to take what I'm given.
They didn't give me the antihistamines in the package ( made a mistake )
That's also a lie ( they had none and still have none in stock )
No alternative offered, so I ended up with Nytol
It didn't work
So now it's Mon, and I'm told to go back to the GP to do more bloods
But they asked me to come down, knowing the sample van had already gone?
Tuesday - A receptionist actually found 1 strip and left it at the pharmacy pickup
Used last night; still the same format - no change.
Wed - still no contact regarding blood results, so I checked my app and got the receptionist to forward via email.
TBH, they are meaningless after this length of time - lack of sleep - and amount of inflammation.
It also compromises any further course due to the time in these conditions
So nearly 2 weeks ago - no idea what is or what may have caused it
Today - exactly the same but in an even more unhealthy position skin-wise.
Just analysed all my blood markers myself
My bloods show no infection, no vasculitis and normal inflammatory markers.
If they had given me Prednisolone as I requested at the outset - 3 days max of this shit and it would be done.
I would say get a second or third opinion - but even those are shite
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apologies, I have been fighting a virus/infection picked up from who knows where for the last 7 days.
After very little sleep and cold showers every 3 hours ( worse every night )
This led to a third visit to the GP today and an immediate referral to the local hospital for blood tests.
Two lots of creams that I said would be no use, but we have to follow procedure
A second when that didn't work
And today, the strongest possible antibiotics.
2 1/2 hours in the GP, followed by a riveting 6 hours at the hospital.
Booked in and triaged within 1 hour ( no complaints; staff were very good at their job)
Bloods sent off; 1 hr wait max.
This part proved to be true; done at 4.30, I later found out, but
No sign of a doctor to discuss at 8.30 pm
So I went to the ward sister to sign a waiver and leave.
She clicked on my name and said all markers were normal except the white cell count😮
Go figure, I wonder why, with a raging skin infection.
I looked at the charts myself and came home.
They wonder why the NHS is in such a poor state
They have some great staff, but the organisation of reception and triage has no plan - and not enough staff to process those areas effectively and filter out the level of requirement.
Bedtime - let's hope I get some decent sleep 😴
