Getting off the disposables
I'm about ready to make the switch to a safety razor and ditch the Schick disposibles I've been using. Any suggestions for a butterfly safety razor that's not going to cost $40-50 and blades for a beginner? I won't be going the whole badger brush/soap/bowl route, instead I'll continue using my shave butter.

Update On My Eye
I was able to get into the VA Emergency Eye Clinic. I suffered an eye vessel that ruptured and therefore it will take about 7-14 days to heal and recover. It is very painful and blurred vision. Now I know what they mean when they say I was so mad I saw red! But anyway, sometimes you have to look and laugh at life and situations to keep from getting upset. Just another obstacle to overcome. Other than pain and blurred vision I am okay. Thank all of you for your concerns and well wishes. Just have to keep an eye on things. (Get it?) okay okay I’ll stop.

Achievement level unlocked
I was promoted to the President of our company. We currently have 76 employees and 3 locations. I’ve been in the same line of work for 26 years (14 yrs at current company) . I have no college degree. Theoretically I don’t deserve this, I started from the very bottom of this industry and 26 years and 3 companies later here I am. I never felt smart enough, educated enough, good enough, to have this happen. I’ve lived my adult life with a constant hunger for knowledge and leadership and a desire to impact those around me. For me, I am undeserving and I truly believe if you knew me, it’s by the grace of God that he’s allowed me this responsibility and stewardship of what ultimately belongs to him. I don’t say that casually or lightly, this isn’t one of those award shows where everyone thanks God. I post this publicly for two reasons 1. Nothing in my life or background by “normal” corporate standards say I should be here. 2. Wherever we are, at the bottom, middle or top in our careers, we can make a difference. We can bless others, help others, support others and lead others right where we are. This is for my guys out there who need to hear the impossible is possible.

Congratulations! I appreciate your humility. As someone raised in a generation that was mostly taught "go to college or you'll never amount to anything" and having obtained a Master's degree, I can assure you that having one does not prepare you for running a company of that size, much less earn the opportunity. Well done sir! God's grace be with you in your new role!

Today is usually the day I spend in the office, however with my wife out of town with work and my eldest having a Pupil Free day at school, it means I am WFH. As with the other day when my youngest shoes my outfit, today’s outfit is chosen by my eldest. She chose everything down to the watch, I again selected the Cap and Overcoat. You can see a little difference in thier styles, Poppy (12) has a more restrained style compared to Jade (almost 9). Both do have a good grasp on colour complimenting and coordination. A good thing about letting them chose and build an outfit, besides learning about colour, is that I get to wear peices I dont usually choose, the Pocket Sqaure in this outfit is one I like but I keep deferring back to the woolen squares I have. With Jade it was the Yiume shirt as a piece of business wear. Anyway to days outfit consists of; Country Road Double Breasted Herringbone 100% Fine Wool Overcoat in Graphite Amazon Purchased Ivy Flat Cap in Grey with Maroon Strip M.J. Bale Lodato Suit in Burgundy Woven in a 73% Wool 27% Cotton melange yarn with a Prince of Wales check Charles Tyrwhitt Cutaway Collar Stretch Kensington Weave Shirt in Stone OTAA Sheffield Burgundy Line Tie OTAA Shining Silver Tie Clip Wife Gifted Navy, Green, Burgundy lined Pocket Square OTAA Wine Burgundy Textured Socks CNES MTO Oxford with Goodyear welted construction and crafted from Italian crust leather SOTD - Viktor and Rolf Spicebomb Nightvision WOTD - Tudor Royal 41 Silver dial

Sling bag suggestions
Hello gents, Looking for some help here. I need to find a good sling bag for everyday carry here in central Florida. Budget is under $40 (under $20 if possible). I don’t do a lot of formal at this point, so that’s not a concern. I’m more interested in protecting my stuff from the rain, fitting my phone, keys, wallet, and a few other items. I like leather and canvas, not so much plastic/synthetic if I can avoid it. I also like warm earth tones or deep autumn colors. Any suggestions?

@Srini A my post was inspired by that one. Only a couple people posted links and only one was for a sling bag. He asked for a general opinion on one or the other based on his criteria. I’m making a different request, though it’s adjacent. I’m asking specifically for recommendations of a sling bag based on my criteria.

@Canyon Rehbein thanks, I appreciate the suggestions. Even if I get something cheaper right now, it’s nice to know some quality brands for later, or maybe I will find one at Ross or Marshall’s.
