FEEL BEHIND? THIS IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY
Quick truth: there is no "behind" in this challenge. That's a story your brain made up the moment you missed a session. And I get it. We are world class at turning one missed day into a full identity crisis. "I always do this." "I never finish anything." "Why did I even sign up." Breathe. The challenge is not a train you missed. It's a room. And the room is open until Tuesday. Five sessions of 30 minutes. You don't need five days for that. You need one weekend and a brain like ours. We don't do "a little bit every day". We do all of it, at once, when it finally matters. Let it matter. Almost everyone misses a day. The people with the big transformations? They missed days too. Felt the shame. Came back anyway. That's the rep that rewires you. Every time you quit something before, you taught your nervous system "we don't finish things." This weekend you teach it the opposite. One honest thing: I don't yet know when I run this again. If I do, it won't be this group, this week, and it might not be fully free again... So here's the whole task. Open the classroom. Press play on the next session. Answer the three questions. Repeat until your report shows up. ▶️ https://www.skool.com/adhd/classroom That report is the deepest thing you'll read about yourself this year. Don't leave it sitting there. And Tuesday is for everyone. Five days done, two days, zero days. Reinvent Your ADHD Life is where I put the whole week into one picture, announce the $2,000 in prizes live, and give everyone in the room lots of value for FREE. If life happened and you did nothing, be there anyway. That's the one thing I'm asking. 📅 Tuesday 8 September, 18:00 CEST 👉 https://www.skool.com/adhd/calendar?eid=98e07cd8498742339830a0a2cd715ed0 You're not behind. You're exactly where the comeback starts. And if you're on track: Day 5 is the one where you get your report. Live at 18:00 CEST · 17:00 UK · 12:00pm ET · 9:00am PT · 02:00 Sat AEST. Can't make it? The replay is up right after.

I really need a morning routine! Correction, I need a better one. The one I have doesn't help me at all.

@Melody Vi I agree!
Day 4 done
My lowest Harmony dimension: Social connections. I don't have any close friends, I've never had. At a very early age I decided that I couldn't trust people because the ones closest to me either died or left, abandoned me as my 5 year old saw it. And the only reasonable explanation I could think of was, it was my fault. So to protect myself from being hurt, abandoned, rejected, I didn't let anyone get close again. Wind-down pattern I noticed: I don't have a clear evening ritual. I usually go to bed around 9 pm. In bed I write in my gratitude journal and usually I also scroll on social media for a bit. I fall asleep within an hour. What I see is that the scrolling tends to be addictive. Morning pattern I noticed: I wake up around 7-7.30. I go to the bathroom and the back to bed for some doom scrolling. (That is a bad habit from when I retired and was training myself to not wake up/get up so darn early. I was working shifts and got up at 4 am on morning shifts and got to bed at 1 am on night shifts and that messed up my rhythm.) After like 1 hour I eat breakfast, eggs mostly, and check email on the laptop. That keeps me occupied for another hour or two. Then it's almost midday and I've not even started! I decided to close my open loop: I'm taking it step by step, but I will close it today Friday, because it will feel so good to get it done! I know I will eventually do it anyway and the longer I wait the harder it gets. Starting and finishing it, I know, will make me feel so relieved. What surprised me: The feedback from ADHD Awakening Assessment: "Look at your own numbers, Gunilla. Sevens, eights, a nine. And then one three. Every dimension you can manage on your own is holding steady, and the only one that requires another human being is on the floor. You even rated your environment a 9 while describing a house you've "lost control over" - the outside looks fine, the inside is where the clutter lives, and that is the whole shape of you in a single scoring sheet. Then there's the morning: 30 to 60 minutes in bed with the phone, then eggs and email. That isn't laziness. That's the safest hour of your day, contact with the world at a distance where nobody can find you disappointing and nobody can leave. Scrolling is company that can't reject you." Wow!!!

Day 4 Done!
My lowest Harmony dimension: financial stability. Wind-down pattern I noticed: I tend to wind down after 8 PM even though I live alone. That’s just my habit. Morning pattern I noticed: what stood out the most in my morning routine was the fact that if I have to go to work, I don’t want to be bothered with noise no matter what it is. I like it to be peaceful. I like to get ready get to work get ready to start and then somebody can talk to me. I don’t really show it, but it’s very annoying to me. If someone starts to talk to me before I am ready to start work. If I don’t have to go to work, you can talk to me all you want for some reason I have to be laser focused on getting to work and ready to start. I don’t even turn on the radio in my car. I decided to (not) close my open loop: because it’s late and my loop is doing the dishes. So I’d rather go to bed. And it made me feel: it made me feel nothing different because the dishes have been sitting there for quite a while. That’s why it’s my loop. Doesn’t bother me that they’re not done. What surprised me: I think it was realizing that my “I don’t care” attitude comes from early childhood. If you don’t care, you can’t be disappointed. If you don’t get your hopes up, you can’t fall.

@Tina Harding Oh, that made me cry! I recognize so much of myself in what you are sharing. I also live alone in a house full of clutter that I don't want anyone to see or know about. I never invite people except once a year at my birthday and I'm running out of space for my panic "decluttering". I'm not brave enough to be honest about it yet.
Day 4 Done!
My lowest Harmony dimension: Physical - no surprise there. I stopped exercising when the pain gets bad in my body. Has been a pretty hectic downward spiral. Wind-down pattern I noticed: Doing ok with the wind-down. I've been actively replacing screen time with book time for the past few months, but still getting way too much blue light at night and still going to bed way too late. What Jim said about revenge bedtime procrastination is me 100%. Staying up super late just so I can have me time is my worst habit. Morning pattern I noticed: I used to get up at 5am and swim in the ocean every morning. I'm going to start that again - that takes care of movement, sunlight and cold water all in one go. It's the 5am part I struggle with haha. I decided to close my open loop: I sent the email I've been dreading! Admittedly I sent it after hours but I still sent it. And it made me feel: My hear was pounding and my adrenaline spiked. What surprised me: It's shocking to me how such a simple act can make me feel so unsafe.
