Do you need to have a talk with your preteen or teen ...
Hi! do you need to have a talk with your teen and you don't know where to start? Here is what I am working on..........I have been thinking of doing a take on 14 talks by age 14 ... mine is 16yrs old and I still want to catch up on these topics to get her take on each. Share what you want to talk to your kiddo, even if they are past 14....better now than later right? I am thinking of building a resource, let me know what I can cover that can help you. Peaceful Parenting Teens - where we unpack this together.

this is good. i would love to look at this list. my 3 boys are way older than 14 ))) yet, still not too late to have that conversations. ps i have been thinking for a while about writing some sort of books / love letters to them telling something important + special stories /memories for each of them. cause there is so much i want to tell them... but for me, it is easier to write

Sorry not sorry for the title. I'm closing my Skool Monetization Lab community, and the reason is simple. I give away good content for free, and free members don't act on it the way my paying members do. I'm in my 50s, and I don't have time to waste like the younger "whippersnappers" (I have never written that word before 🤣). For me, time is currency, so I looked at this as return on time. In my paid communities, people have put money in, so they turn up and do the work. In SML, free content gets treated like a free sample. People take it and don't act on it 😏 That gives me a simple rule on pricing: 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰: a low-priced subscription is the better model, because paying filters for people who will act. 𝗜𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻'𝘁: stay free. A price on an empty room only leaves you with an empty room. My own traffic comes from YouTube, and that's what keeps my paid communities full. Two more reasons. There are now a lot of free communities teaching the same thing, so it's hard to look different from the one next door. And the same hours in my other communities earn more. I use one test. If I'm not hearing at least one "KACHING" a week, the time and resources are being wasted. SML started as a test, and it worked at the beginning. Then Skool changed the rules. I'm not going to sit and cry about it. I've never been afraid to kill what isn't working, so I'm closing the doors. 𝗜'𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. 𝗔 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗶𝘃𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗿. Here's how to check yours this week: Add up the hours you spent on it last month, including posting, replying and prep. Then count the sales, bookings or paid sign-ups that came from it. Divide the hours by the sales and you have your number. If you can't point to at least one sale a week, ask yourself two questions. Do I bring my own traffic? Would the people in here pay for what I give them? If the answer to the first is no, the pivot may be as small as changing who you're bringing in.
I'm shutting up shop. That's it.

i am sure this is a thoughtful decision for you. yet, i am still sticking to/advocating for a freemium model, cause it allows me (and others) to spend less time on content/social media.

@Des Dreckett agreed! yet what i see, ppl turn their communities paid and then - crickets, frustration, and ... they quit without even understanding what they did wrong.
#FriendFriday 🎉
It's time to celebrate each other! In the COMMENTS BELOW, please share a Skool community you think is doing really great things. It can be one you've participated in yourself or one that you've heard from others is amazing. Please do the following: 1. Tell us the name of the community and link to it (affiliates allowed). 2. Tag the person who owns the community. If they are not in the CLASSIFIEDS, then please send them a DM and let them know that you mentioned them here. I promise you will make their day! 3. Describe why the group is so wonderful and how it has helped you. Please DO NOT just copy and paste the About page! 4. Comment on each others comments and scroll through the referrals to see if there's an amazing group you are missing out on! Thanks so much for supporting each other and this community! Please note that any #FriendFriday mentions that are created as new posts will be deleted. Thanks! Please DO NOT promote yourself. 🤨. The entire community is for promoting yourself. This post is for celebrating someone else. 😊

Why Nobody's Coming In?
you've built it. and you hope that "they will come". here is the ugly truth: bringing people into your community is your job, as a business owner. as important as nurturing them and making them an offer, and delivering that offer. today is day 3 of Community Clinic 2.0 - a free 3-day event to help you fix what's not working in your community. it is not another summit. no slides. no BS. WHAT'S ON AGENDA TODAY - a real case study with @Alexa Leitner to find out exactly what she did to grow that fast - a Roundtable Discussion with two AMAZING experts @Des Dreckett and Chris Hanlon about fixing traffic in your community - and the Hot Seat session, where you bring your empty room and leave with a plan to fill it last day live. will i see you tonight?

You Can't Sell to a Cold Room
you post. 🦗. you post again. again crickets. so you post more value, because that's what you think they need/want. but the room is still cold 🥶 here is the problem: you can't sell to a cold room. today is day 2 of Community Clinic 2.0 - a free 3-day event to help you fix what's not working in your community. yesterday we fixed the offer. today we are warming up the room you're selling it in. not another summit. no slides. no BS. WHAT'S ON AGENDA TODAY - a real case study with @Paulo Costa , founder of Roast & Promote, where members show up, talk, and pay to do so 🔥 - The Value Trap: a roundtable with two AMAZING experts on why "just give value" leaves you with crickets. and the experts are... ⬇️ - the hot seats, where we send your crickets where they belong.. not in your community THE AMAZING EXPERTS the one and only @Shannon Boyer - founder of this community and award-winning educator with 25+ years in teaching and another amazing human being @Éva Raposa - the founder of Skoolers: Connect & Collab, where the whole community runs on connection, not content. see you tonight?
