Happy weekend, everyone! Saturday rolled around, you had (likely) a chance to sleep in. When did you wake up this morning? Was it a wildly different time than during the week? Yo, we all do this, to some degree. And having a flexible system that can - sometimes - respond to different wake/sleep times is a sign of a healthy body. However...by doing this regularly, you are subjecting your body to "social jet lag", the equivalent of having travelled several time zones. And it takes quite a while for your circadian rhythm to return to regularity (before you, alas, do it again next weekend). You're essentially putting your body through unnecessary stress each weekend, which will reflect on your ability to be and stay energized during the week. If you have exceptionally healthy sleep, no need to worry about this. But if you even occasionally struggle with falling asleep or staying asleep, you could GREATLY benefit from anchoring your wake time throughout the entire week (+/- 30 min), regardless of what you have going on during the weekend. So...how different is your weekend wake time vs. your weekday wake time? ⬇️
