Late checkin
Daily Check-in - 2026-10-06 Reflection Last minute checkin today after a super busy full coaching day. I’m energised by coaching but had a rough sleep last night so energy was lower today. I realised the difference to my sleep was that I picked up my computer to do some work last night after my social long weekend and ended up staying up too late. 🤪 Activities 🚿 Cold Shower, ☀️ Morning Sunlight, 🚶 Walk, 🥗 Healthy Eating, ☕ No Late Caffeine, 💊 Took Supplements, 🥦 Ate Vegetables, 🍳 Home Cooked Meal, 🧘‍♂️ Meditation, 🙏 Prayer, 📝 Journaling, 🎯 Deep Work, 📧 Inbox Zero, 📋 Planned Day, 🌅 Focused Morning, ⏱️ Time Blocking, 🧠 Learning, 🎓 Online Course, 👥 Quality Time, 🤝 Helped Someone, 👂 Active Listening, 🥗 Healthy snack Scores 😊 Happiness: 9/10 ⚡ Energy: 7/10 🎯 Focus: 8/10 😌 Calmness: 8/10 🌙 Sleep Quality: 7/10 🔥 Motivation: 9/10

💭 Reflection: "I tried Non-Sleep Deep Rest (NSDR)/Yoga Nidra for the first time since I kept seeing NSDR and yoga nidra mentioned in the ADHD Harmony content and by other members here. First, I didn’t realize that yoga nidra was a guided meditation and not a yoga workout🤪 So after that revelation and completing the 10-minute NSDR video on YouTube, I found a 12-minute gentle yoga routine video to try as a small step towards my Big Rock #1 🪨 my physical body. There was a lot more that happened and more I wanted to say, but it’s already past 10:30pm🥱 Just remembered why morning check-ins are so much easier😴" 📊 Wellbeing Scores: 😊 Happiness: 8/10 ⚡ Energy: 7/10 🎯 Focus: 8/10 😌 Calmness: 7/10 🌙 Sleep Quality: 9/10 🔥 Motivation: 9/10 ⭐ Average: 8/10 ✅ Activities from yesterday: 🚿 Cold Shower 🛏️ Good Sleep 💧 Stayed Hydrated 🧘 Yoga 🏊 Swimming 🥩 Hit Protein Goal 🍳 Home Cooked Meal 🧘‍♂️ Meditation 🙏 Prayer 📝 Journaling 💚 Gratitude Practice 💭 Affirmations 🎯 Visualization ✨ Positive Mindset 🎯 Deep Work 🧠 Learning 👥 Quality Time 🤝 Helped Someone 📞 Called Friend/Family 👂 Active Listening 👯‍♀ Body doubling 🐱🐶 Pets

This is what ADHD looks like
I got my laptop out of the bag to finish organizing my taxes a week before the extension deadline. I tore the house apart looking for an envelope full of 2025 receipts, couldn't find them. After a few hours putting what I had into a spreadsheet, I went to put my laptop in the bag, and there's the envelope full of receipts, which I put in my laptop bag, so I'd know where they were when I did my taxes.🤪

Yep…. It’s like we need a notice pinned to something we do everyday with a “This is where the important thing/stuff/document is” just in case we forget…. This so reminds me that I cannot fine the spare car keys… as I filed them somewhere special… that I would not possibly forget where!!! Who was I kidding …
When shame makes me want to disappear - Emotional Mastery
I’ve just finished the Emotional Mastery Worksheet in the six-week programme, and one thing really jumped out at me. There’s a particular cluster of emotions and situations that seem to hit a very deep nerve for me — shame, guilt, feeling unheard, being scolded, or feeling like I’m being judged as not enough, too much, inconsistent, messy, lazy, indecisive or someone who never finishes anything. And my brain's response? I want to be Alice in Wonderland. Drink the bottle. Make myself small. Disappear. Become invisible. That really made me stop and think about masking. Because maybe masking isn't always about trying to appear “normal” or hiding ADHD traits in a social situation. Maybe sometimes it's also about making ourselves smaller when we think the version of us that is showing up isn't acceptable. Hide the unfinished projects. Hide the mess. Hide the indecision. Hide the inconsistency. Hide the things we struggle with. And perhaps, over time, you get pretty bloody good at hiding the bits of yourself you think other people won't accept. The interesting bit for me is that I don't think I've ever consciously thought, “I'm masking right now.” It feels much more like: make yourself smaller, stay quiet, don't draw attention, don't give anyone another reason to think you're too much or not enough. That little Alice analogy has given me something new to notice in myself. Anyone else had one of those moments where an ADHD exercise unexpectedly shines a light on something that's been sitting there for years?

Trip
I have just arrived back from a trip to Perth to visit my son..all I can say is Thank God for Jim's Twin and the ability to reflect back, teach and talk me through some incredibly rough spots... Even to encourage and celebrate the winning of two Business Class Bids which made the 7.30 hr trip so much easier.. Home now, looking if there is anyone who would join me at 7pm NZL each night for a 1/2 hr general tidying body doubling session..I have a huge problem putting things away, finishing things and so often wake up to a messy kitchen, unfinished projects scattered around which is not a great start to the day..I am keen to work with and get to know others in this program and am open to other timeslots if there is any interest..
